DMCA Copyright Policy
Last updated: April 10, 2026
Xlang respects intellectual property rights. This policy explains our process for handling copyright infringement claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and describes how to submit a takedown notice or counter-notice.
Safe Harbor Notice
Xlang operates as a service provider under 17 U.S.C. § 512 and qualifies for DMCA safe harbor protection. We have designated a copyright agent with the U.S. Copyright Office and respond expeditiously to valid takedown notices.
1. About Embedded Content
Xlang embeds videos from YouTube using the official YouTube iframe player. We do not host, store, or distribute video files. The videos remain on YouTube's servers and are subject to YouTube's own copyright policies.
If you believe a specific YouTube video infringes your copyright, we first encourage you to submit a copyright complaint directly to YouTube via their Copyright Complaint process. Removal from YouTube will automatically remove the embedded video from Xlang.
If you wish Xlang to specifically remove a reference (link/embed) to a video from our platform, you may also submit a notice to us as described below.

3. How to Submit a Takedown Notice
To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your written notice must include all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are covered.
- Identification of the infringing material: The specific URL(s) on Xlang where the allegedly infringing content appears, with enough detail for us to locate it.
- Your contact information: Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Good faith statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy statement: A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

Send completed notices to: dmca@xlang-learn.com
4. Our Response to Takedown Notices
Upon receipt of a valid notice we will:
- Acknowledge receipt of the notice
- Remove or disable access to the identified content expeditiously
- Notify the user who submitted or embedded the content (if applicable)
- Forward the notice to the Lumen Database if required
We aim to respond to all valid notices within 5 business days.
5. Counter-Notices
If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Your counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the content that was removed and its former URL on Xlang
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant
Send counter-notices to: dmca@xlang-learn.com with subject line: DMCA Counter-Notice.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed content within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant seeks a court order.
6. Repeat Infringer Policy
In appropriate circumstances, Xlang will terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights. A "repeat infringer" is a user against whom we have received multiple valid DMCA notices.
7. Abuse of the DMCA Process
Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that content is infringing — or that content was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney's fees. We reserve the right to seek such damages from anyone who submits a fraudulent notice.
